Power and Flash with the Polaris Slingshot
From Indian Motorcycles to all of your favorite snowmobiles, side-by-sides, and ATVs, Polaris Industries makes some of the best Powersports products available. For years, our riders have trusted Polaris for durable, powerful machines. The Polaris Slingshot takes its prowess to a new level.
The Polaris Slingshot R can go from 0-60 in just 4.9 seconds and boasts 203hp at its peak. It features two front wheels and one rear wheel, so it’s classified as an autocycle in some states, while others call it a motorcycle. The hydraulically actuated 5-speed manual transmission and impressive horsepower let you reach high speeds and maximize your open-air fun on the road. If you want a vehicle that’s faster than any other 4-cylinder on the road with a sleek, impressive design, the Polaris Slingshot might be just what you’re looking for.
Technical Aspects
The 2020 model of the Slingshot is the most advanced yet. When Polaris originally introduced the Slingshot in 2014, it was available only with a manual transmission. Now, Polaris offers more options – you can choose from an automatic transmission, an automated manual transmission, or a 5-speed manual transmission. This makes the Polaris Slingshot more accessible to riders who might not be familiar with driving a stick shift. Plus, the Slingshot weighs just over 1,700 pounds, half as much as many small cars, but it still features more power with 203hp and 144 lb-ft of torque. You can count on the electronic stability control, which comes standard. This year, Polaris added two riding modes, Comfort Mode and Slingshot Mode, to give you maximum ride command.
Sleek Design
You can customize your Slingshot with a variety of exterior colors. However, the leather-wrapped steering wheel and sleek, black interior come standard. If you’re looking to outfit your Polaris Slingshot for all-weather conditions, you can add a “Slingshade,” which consists of polycarbonate windows and a sun cover, to the frame. We know the weather here in Ohio can be unpredictable, especially in the winter, so many of our customers love this feature.
The Slingshot’s interior design is similar to a sports car, including an adjustable steering wheel. You might not want to drive your Slingshot to work every day, but it’s a lot more fun to drive than many sports cars on the market. Plus, its cost is roughly the same as the Mazda MX-5 Miata, one of the most popular convertibles available.
Polaris Slingshot Models
If you’re looking for maximum horsepower, look no further than the Slingshot R. For those looking for a lower-cost option, the Slingshot SL is excellent. While it boasts more horsepower than most small cars, the body is slightly higher from the ground than the Slingshot R. Still, the base SL model is a great option for open-air fun. Of course, all models feature the rear tire and front wheels, making for a unique look.
Many people think of the Polaris Slingshot as more of a sports car than a Powersports product – its interior mirrors many sportscars. But Polaris is different from General Motors or Mazda. This is a Powersports brand that has been making dependable products for generations. From ATV enthusiasts to snowmobile lovers, Powersports enthusiasts love and trust Polaris products.
